Theme: “The testimony of the Christian in a perverse world
Text: 1 John 5:9-11

9. If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater; for the testimony of God consists in this, that he has borne witness to his Son. 10. He who believes in the Son of God has this testimony in himself; He who does not believe God makes him a liar, since he does not believe in the testimony that God gave to his Son. 11. And this is the testimony, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

Let's remember:

We must avoid the complacency caused by self-satisfaction in having a good testimony. Let us wait for God to give our testimony because he searches the hearts and the minds. God sees what lies dormant in us; it is He alone who can give credit to our testimony. What is more precious is the gap between our testimony and that of Jesus Christ. There is no common measure; the testimony that God gives of his Son is noble and reassuring. Everyone must take ownership of it to avoid being made a liar. The Lord God, the Father of all glory has borne witness of his beloved Son, Jesus Christ. What is this testimony? Well, it is this: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. This is not fake news, it is not an idea, it is not a project either. The Lord testifies that eternal life is available in this world; you just have to accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior. We just have to yield our lives to Him by obeying Him daily and constantly. Our Lord Jesus made his priestly prayer in these words: "Father, the hour has come! Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you, according as you have given him power over all flesh, that he may grant eternal life to all whom you have given him, and this is eternal life, that they may know you, the only true God, and him whom you have sent, Jesus Christ.” This supports verse 11 of 1 John 5. Have a great Thursday. Amen
