Theme: "The Christian, a reflection of Christ"
Text: 1 Corinthians 11:1
1. Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ.
Let us remember:
A Christian is a person who, through baptism, belongs to the Church, the body of Christ and lives according to the message transmitted in the Gospel. Now, baptism means accepting Jesus as the only Lord and Savior, accepting to die to sin and resurrecting for sanctification. The word Christian designates the disciples of Christ. As for the word reflection, it is a dimmed light reflected by a body. In the figurative sense, the reflection designates an image, a representation. When we say that we are the reflection of a person, it is because we reproduce the main features of said person. A reflection must not be a counterfeit or a mirror. The mirror is the horizontal reverse of the projected image because what is on the left of the person is on the right and vice versa. The vertical of the mirror remains consistent. To say that a Christian is the reflection of Christ, he must be born of God (John 1:12-13); he must literally depend on God (John 5:30); he must be filled with the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8); he must walk in the light (1 Jn 1.5–7); he must keep the commandments of God (1 Jn 2.3–6; 5.1); he must have the assurance of salvation (1 Jn 5.13); he must flee sin and worship God alone… in short, there are several other traits characterizing the Christian. To be the reflection of Christ, the basic element is light because without light, there is no reflection. Christ is the light of the world, let us reflect his light. Excellent Monday. Amen
