Topic: "The relationships of God's children with each other"
Text: 1 John 3:10-15
10. By this are the children of God and the children of the devil. Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother. 11. For this is what was preached to you and what you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another, 12. and not be like Cain, who was of the evil one and killed his brother. And why did he kill him? because his own deeds were evil, and his brother's righteous deeds. 13. Do not marvel, brothers, if the world hates you. 14. We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brothers. He who does not love remains in death. 15. Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.
Let us remember:
A child of God who does not love his neighbor is a murderer. He himself is spiritually dead because he who does not love, remains in death. The lack of love destroys good judgment in us; and we become a carnal Christian who ignores the principles of faith. There are several murders that are committed in our hearts by dint of hating our brothers and sisters. Cain lacked humility and love; he would have only had to change his attitude, his way of giving and make an offering that God would have accepted. We must relearn to love our neighbor to avoid weighing down our spiritual criminal record. There are more criminals in churches than in prisons because almost all Christians have already hated a person. This would mean that we have already killed by the look, by violent words, by resentment, rancor, jealousy, injustice, scam, rape, theft, selfishness. Good relationships among the children of God also depend on our justice. Whoever does not practice justice is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother. It is possible to pass from death to life by changing the way of thinking. We must put into practice the word that asks us to love God and to love our neighbor as ourselves. This is the only way to pass from death to life, because we will love God and our neighbor. Excellent Sunday. Amen
