Topic: “The Christian, a Reflection of Christ”
Text: Hebrews 3:1-6
1. Therefore, holy brothers and partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the apostle and high priest of our profession, 2. Jesus, who was faithful to him who appointed him, as Moses was faithful in all his house. 3. For he was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who built a house has more honor than the house itself. 4. Every house is built by someone, but he who built all things is God. 5. As for Moses, he was faithful in all the house of God, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken; 6. but Christ as a Son over his house; and his house is us, provided that we hold fast to the end the firm confidence and the hope in which we boast.
Let us remember:
Moses is an example of commitment to the work of God. His saving work towards the Israelites by taking them out of Egypt, is a kind of first fruits to the work accomplished by Christ on the cross to take humanity out of the prison of sin and hell. Moses had been found faithful in his work. This faithfulness made him the reflection of God since he reflected the orders of God and through him, the people approached God. Exodus 20: 19. "They said to Moses: Speak to us yourself, and we will listen; but let not God speak to us, lest we die." If we are faithful to God in all our work, we will be his reflection, the world will prefer to listen to God through us. The same is true for Jesus Christ who was faithful and upright throughout, from start to finish. He did not waver at any time. He brought us redemption as his Father wanted. He tamed humiliation, the cross and death. He brought salvation from heaven to the land of the living. He is the image of God, the reflection of God. He who has seen him, has seen the Father. He who honors him, honors the Father. He sent the Holy Spirit to accompany us in everyday life. He chose to incorporate him into our lives, to avoid the back and forth and the long waiting times. The Spirit is in us; God is in us so we are the reflection of God; provided that we accept him. Excellent Friday and good start to the weekend. Amen
