Theme: "The Christian, a reflection of Christ"
Text: John 8:12
12. Jesus spoke to them again, and said: I am the light of the world; he who follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.
Let us remember:
The most illustrative image is that of the people of Israel leaving Egypt. In the desert, they were under the guidance of God who was their light. Day and night, the light did not leave them. Exodus 13:21. "The Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead them on their way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel day and night. 22. The pillar of cloud did not depart from before the people by day, nor the pillar of fire by night." If we let Jesus lead our lives, our projects, our communities, our jobs… we will never know darkness. Nothing could come to cover us with darkness because Jesus our light would enlighten us forever. Jesus is the light of the world; he who follows him will not walk in darkness, but he will have the light of life. Our intelligence needs light to better deploy itself in the spheres of life. Our wisdom needs the light of Jesus to be operational. Our language, our gaze, our faith, our gifts in short everything about us needs the light that is Jesus. The reflection of his light enlightens us and illuminates our light. Let us not bring darkness where there is the light of Jesus, it is irreconcilable. Let us refute them and go to Jesus the light. As he is, so are we. Excellent Tuesday. Amen
