Theme: "The Holy Spirit: its mission in the Church and society"
Text: Ézekiel 36: 25-28

25. I will spread pure water on you, and you will be purified; I will purify you of all your stains and all your idols. 26. I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you; I will take the heart of stone with your body, and I will give you a heart of flesh. 27. I will put my mind in you, and I will make sure that you follow my ordinances, and that you observe and practice my laws. 28. You will live in the country I have given to your fathers; You will be my people, and I will be your God.

Let us hold:

In his sovereignty, God comes to seek us from the bottom of our bewilderment to do us good. As in this text, God comes to save the honor of his holy name, that profaked the house of Israel among the nations where she had gone. It was not because of Israel that God had acted in this way, it was because of his holy name, that they had profaned among the nations where they had gone (Ézekiel 36: 21-22). To do this, God decided to fully renew his people from top to bottom. He began by changing hearts and then their way of thinking, finally he spread his mind on them. Indeed, all these verses say the same thing. Soliding pure water (verse 25) means purifying and spreading the Holy Spirit. Giving a new heart (verse 26) means new birth and also spreading the Holy Spirit. Putting your mind or putting in us a new spirit (verse 26) means spreading your Holy Spirit. Remove the heart of stone from our body, and give a heart of flesh (verse 26) means putting apart and spreading the Holy Spirit. To ensure that we follow his ordinances, and that we observed and practiced his laws (verse 27) still means spreading the Holy Spirit. You will be my people, and I will be your God (verse 28) this is the consequence of receiving the Holy Spirit. In addition, all our setbacks on the path of God originally have the little space granted to the Holy Spirit. Even when God spreads his Holy Spirit, we have the duty to give him the place that is his in our lives. It is then that we will live in the country he gave to our fathers; We will be his people, and he will be our God. Excellent Sunday. Amen
