Theme: “The responsibility of the Christian in the face of violence" Text: Genesis 6:11-12 11. The earth was corrupt before God, the earth was full of violence. 12. God looked upon the earth, and behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted its way on earth. Let's remember: Violence is defined as the abuse of force. It is also the natural disposition to the brutal expression of feelings. It is the inability to manifest gentleness in one's words, deeds and gestures. There are a very large number of people destroyed by the violence of their partners, parents or friends. Violence can be exercised in a gratuitous way without cause and without foundation. It can provide for the outcome of a bad act and in response, the victim reacts with violence. Regardless of background, violence invites itself when we lack self-control, when we let our anger speak instead of sharing peace and love. When God saw that the earth was filled with violence, he resolved to find a saving solution. He destroyed the generation of Noah, Sodom and Gomorrah but in the end he sent Jesus Christ to save the world from violence. The Christian cannot be violent, except in the face of sin. He cannot tolerate violence, he must condemn it and exhort the violent to love his neighbour. Violence is a manifest sign of the lack of love. Let nervousness be banned and instead we practice gentleness. Excellent Monday without violence. Amen Alain Louz.-
