Theme: “The good witness of the Christian family”
Text: Philippians 1:27
27. Only conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come to see you or remain absent, I may hear of you that you stand firm in one spirit, fighting with one soul for the faith of the Gospel,
Let's remember:
The unit of measurement of testimony is our obedience to the Word of God. Do we want to know if our testimony is good? Let us introspect to see if we are living a life consistent with the gospel preached to us. If there is a gap between what is preached and what we practice, it is clear that we need to perfect our testimony. It is possible to polish our testimony if it is not good in order to bring it back to the expectations of the Christian family and also those of God. Let us conduct ourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit is a person from whom we can seek advice because he is a Spirit of counsel. He will help us to conduct ourselves in a manner worthy of the Gospel. A worthy person is one who, for his qualities, his actions, deserves something, calls for such an attitude, such an action. Worthy of the gospel means respectful of the gospel, consistent with the gospel. Let us be Christians who respect God and his gospel. Let us have the fear of God in order to have a good testimony with men and with God. The trap to avoid is to pretend in front of men to make them believe that we have a good testimony but deep down we do not have it. It’s hypocrisy, it’s also lies, double identity. We are asked to remain stable in keeping our good testimony. In front of the pastor or away from him; in front of parents or far from them, even in an environment where no one knows us, let us keep the good testimony. We must fear God rather than fear men. The echo of our testimony must be clearly perceived by our neighbor. Let us remain firm in one spirit, let us fight with one soul for the faith of the Gospel, and for our good testimony.
