Theme: "Thanksgiving"
Text: Jonah 2:8-10
8 When my soul was cast down within me, I remembered the LORD, and my prayer came to you, to your holy temple. 9 Those who cling to vain idols Remove mercy from them. 10 As for me, I will offer sacrifices to you with a cry of thanksgiving, I will fulfill the vows that I have made: Salvation comes from the LORD.
Let us remember:
Thanksgiving is an attitude of gratitude and recognition towards the one who is the author of any action. It is an outpouring of the heart that comes to declare the love felt in the face of an action suffered. The action suffered can be good or bad but its lessons and its repercussions are enough to say thank you to its author. This matters to humans but also and above all to God, the author of life. Thanksgiving is an attitude of gratitude towards God because a person filled with all kinds of spiritual blessings in Christ must recognize with what love he is loved by God and come humbly to say thank you. Thus, we can give thanks to God for the gift of life, for the way in which he has deployed his work of mercy in our life and for the redemption by which he has conquered death. As for Jonah, being a prisoner in the belly of a large marine mammal, he took the time to make vows and thanksgivings to God, as soon as he finished, God spoke to the fish and the fish vomited Jonah onto dry land. We can therefore easily say that thanksgiving brings us closer to God, it strengthens or seals our acquired knowledge but most importantly, it obtains for us the most necessary graces: faith, salvation, peace. Thanksgiving makes it easier to obtain more graces from God, the author of all graces. God is very sensitive to thanksgiving because he accepts them and rewards those who bring them. Excellent Monday. Amen
