Theme: “Thanksgiving”
Text: Colossians 2:6-7
6. Therefore, as you have received the Lord Jesus Christ, walk in him, 7. being rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in thanksgiving.
Let us remember:
When we receive the Lord Jesus, life changes. Ambitions and outlooks also change. Life takes another turn. Ephemeral things lose their attractiveness and eyes are now fixed on eternal things; those that rust and mildew can neither corrode nor destroy. The one who is saved is the one who has received Jesus into his life; it is the one who holds his Word in his heart and fights by the strength of God to flee from sin. Another good thing that characterizes the person who has received Jesus in his life is his prayerful impulse, the quality of his prayers. He no longer lines up vain words to beg for miracles, the good life, success in short he is Christocentric. He is oriented only towards the will of God. And his prayers overflow with several thanksgivings that continue to multiply. Those who listen to him think that he needs nothing, because he asks only for the kingdom of God and his justice; he knows that everything else will be given to him above all. He favors thanksgivings both in his prayers and in his actions. Such a person makes gifts and offerings of thanksgivings because he recognizes the graces incurred to have life and the blessings that accompany our journey on earth. Let us abound in thanksgivings, let us be rooted, founded in Jesus and strengthened by faith, according to the holy scriptures. Excellent Thursday. Amen
