Theme : " The birth of Jesus Christ "
Text : Luke 2: 15-20
15. When the angels left them and returned to heaven, the shepherds said to one another, Let us go to Bethlehem, and see what has happened, what the Lord has made known to us. 16. They went in haste, and found Mary and Joseph, and the little child lying in the manger. 17. After seeing him, they related what they had been told about this little child. 18. All who heard them were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19. Mary kept all these things, and reflected them in her heart. 20. And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all that they had heard and seen, and which was as it was told them.
Let us remember:
To strengthen the solemnity of the birth of his Son, God sent a cohort, a procession of angels who came especially to praise Him who lives forever and ever. Human minds deemed fragile, unbelieving and slow to understand heavenly things; should see these signs and wonders surrounding the birth of Jesus; for them to believe. The shepherds did not search the whole city until they found the place where Jesus was born. It would be like 'looking for a needle in a haystack'. Thus, an extra luminous star had been dispatched with a mission to accompany those who would go to visit Christ, the morning star who had just been born. The angels celebrated the birth of Christ in a visible way, before the astonished gaze of the shepherds. The shepherds on their way home also celebrated this same birth of Jesus. They also announced the good news on their passage. The shepherds were therefore the first evangelists. We also relay this info. Excellent Sunday of joy. Amen Alain Louz.-
