Theme: “The Holy Spirit: his mission in the Church and society”
Text: John 16:7-11
7. Yet I tell you the truth: it is good for you if I go, for if I do not go, the Helper will not come to you; but, if I go, I will send it to you. 8. And when he is come, he will convict the world concerning sin, and righteousness, and judgment: 9. concerning sin, because they believe not on me; 10. righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you will see me no more; 11. judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
Let's remember:
The continuation of the work begun by Jesus is perpetuated by the Holy Spirit. Currently and since Christ poured out his Spirit on all flesh, the world of faith is administered by the Spirit of God; even if the three make one. Unbelievers who refuse the message of salvation delivered by the Lord Jesus are supported by the Holy Spirit. And if they refuse the mission of the Holy Spirit, this time they will sin against the Holy Spirit. They will border on blasphemy because the sin against the Holy Spirit consists of refusing God's mercy, of wanting to do nothing with God. The sin against the Holy Spirit is the same as that attributed to Satan. Indeed, we must understand that the return of Jesus in glory is the essential condition for the sending of the Holy Spirit who is light and life for us. “Whoever believes in me, rivers of living water will flow out of him, as the Scripture says” John 7:38. Rivers of living water are the expression and action of the Holy Spirit in us. The Holy Spirit’s mission is to flow within us. He flows within us since it is He who rebukes us regarding sin, righteousness, and judgment. When the Holy Spirit accomplishes this mission which concerns the moral domain: sin before God, divine justice, eternal judgment, repentance and salvation, or hardness and ruin, occur. Excellent Tuesday. Amen
