Theme : " Renouncing Evil "
Text : Matthew 23:27-31
27. Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you look like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside, and which, on the inside, are full of the bones of the dead and all kinds of impurities. 28. You likewise on the outside appear righteous to men, but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and iniquity. 29. Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because you build the tombs of the prophets and adorn the sepulchres of the righteous, 30. and you say: If we had lived in the days of our fathers, we would not have joined them to shed the blood of the prophets. 31. You thus testify against yourselves that you are the sons of those who killed the prophets.
Let's remember:
Let us renounce evil so as not to look like living sepulchers from the outside but with a lifeless interior. Let's abandon flashy or flashy effects: it does not benefit us. As long as there is the cleavage holy outside and impure inside, we will not make the joy of our God. Let's destroy the inner impurities so that this inner matches our outer appearance. Let's reflect our real life instead of leading two diametrically opposed lives and having them coexist within us. Let us resign from the hypocritical life and embrace the existential truth in Jesus. If we know how to pretend to lead a pious life, it is because it is possible to reflect this life without pretending; we have the capacity and the means. And if we lack capacity, Jesus is willing to help us to supplement the strength that we lack. Excellent Sunday away from evil. Amen Alain Louz.-
