Theme: “The Christian facing death”
Text: 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14
13. We do not want you, brothers, to be ignorant concerning those who sleep, so that you may not grieve like others who have no hope. 14. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, let us also believe that God will bring back through Jesus and with him those who are dead.
Let's remember:
In Jesus, we have acquired several advantages that make the difference in the life of those who received him as Lord and personal Savior. These advantages are innumerable but the most telling is salvation after our resurrection. It is a matter of immense joy to know that death has no hold on the children of God. Indeed, it will be with a given signal, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of his trumpet, that God will descend from heaven, and the dead in Christ will rise again. Then those who are alive and those who remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. Let us therefore comfort one another with these words (verses 16 to 18). This is how we will learn to better understand death as a normal but precious journey that brings us to the Father. Let us be reassured, we will always be with the Lord whatever we live in this world or whatever we die. However, we have the duty to beautify our relationship with Jesus Christ in order to have access to salvation after death. Let us not be ignorant about death. Let us have our hope in Jesus as an anchor of the soul, sure and solid because eternal death exists and it is reserved for those who are not saved; those who have not received Jesus and do not believe in his Name; to those who are not born again. Jesus is our precursor on the path to death and resurrection. Have a great Sunday. Amen
