Theme : " You will love your neighbor as yourself "
Text : James 2: 1-8
1. My brethren, may your faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ be free from all meanings of persons. 2. Suppose, indeed, that a man enters your assembly with a golden ring and a magnificent garment, and that there also enters there a poor miserably dressed; 3. if, turning your eyes to the one who wears the magnificent garment, you say to him: You, sit here in this place of honor! and if you say to the poor: You, stand there! or else: Sit under my step, 4.Don't you make a distinction in yourselves, and judge you under the inspiration of bad thoughts? 5. Hear, my beloved brethren: hath not God chosen the poor in the eyes of the world, to be rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he has promised to those who live there. 'like? 6. And you debase the poor! Isn't it the rich who oppress you and take you to court? 7. Are they not the ones who outraged the beautiful name you bear? 8. If you fulfill the royal law, according to the scripture: You shall love your neighbor as yourself, you are doing well.
Let us remember :
Preferential choices are not often established on the basis of love of neighbor. Each human being must receive the same respect, the same consideration whatever their attire. Appearance should not attract our attention at the risk of distorting our judgment. Before God, all people are equal, regardless of size, background, beauty, race, social status… God is no respect for anyone; we receive his love equally. No distinction or judgment should be made under the inspiration of evil thoughts. Do not love on a tribal, sectarian, racial basis… Each divine creature must receive the same rate of love and without reserve or hypocrisy. Do not give more privileges to some to deprive others. Let us be providers of equity and equality. Even the Universal Charter of Human Rights recognizes that humans have equal and inalienable rights; the same rights of access to freedom, justice and peace. Excellent Sunday. Amen Alain Louz.-
