Theme: “Worshiping God in Spirit and Truth

Text: Revelation 4:9-11

9. When the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne, to him who lives forever and ever, 10. the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne and worship him who lives forever and ever, and they cast their crowns before the throne, saying: 11. You are worthy, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for you created all things, and it is by your will that they exist and were created.

Let us remember:

Worshiping God is like exhaling a perfume. Not every perfume is necessarily a good smell, but there are some that are unanimously accepted. The smell of a perfume mixed with that of smoke modifies the primary fragrance. This is why our worship must be worthy because it is addressed to a worthy God. It must never be mixed with our ego or our pride. A true worshiper can never be proud because the first level of worship is self-forgetfulness, humility before moving on to consecration. This dimension of worship rendered by the angels demonstrates how they throw away their crowns, their pride, their responsibilities, their dignity in short they separate themselves from everything that can clutter their heads at the time of prostration. In the presence of God, it is not possible to remain standing all the time, without ever prostrating oneself: it is a lack of reverence, a real lack of respect, it is pride. The angels do not commit sin but they still prostrate themselves before God. And we who commit them without stopping, we refuse to prostrate ourselves. Let us throw away the crowns of makeup, headdress, pride, shame ... and fall before the face of God in sign of worship by prostration. This is the key that makes God favorable to our worship in order to receive, from us, glory, honor and power. Let us know that he is worthy of being worshiped because He created all things, and it is by his will that they exist and were created. Excellent Friday and good start to the weekend. Amen
