Topic: “The Relationships of God’s Children to One Another”
Text: Romans 12:12-18
12. Rejoice in hope. Be patient in tribulation. Continue in prayer. 13. Provide for the needs of the saints. Practice hospitality. 14. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. 15. Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep. 16. Be like-minded one toward another. Do not set your mind on high things, but on low things. Do not be wise in your own eyes. 17. Repay no one evil for evil. Seek what is good in the sight of all men. 18. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with all men.
Let us remember:
The relationships of God's children with each other are often execrable because those concerned do not have the same feelings towards each other. They all aspire to what is high, and do not allow themselves to be attracted by what is humble. Each is wise in his own eyes. This lack of humility is a factor of destabilization of their relationships. We lack temperance, gentleness, lucidity. We are not in the habit of using our common sense in order to weigh the pros and cons before reacting. If we associate prayer in the midst of our relationships, we will have good quality relationships because prayer removes carnal heaviness. The Christian life must be a life of assiduous prayer. The relationships of God's children with each other require mutual aid and hospitality that is constantly renewed. We must act when our neighbor needs help. Let us open our doors to those who lack shelter and provisions. Let us bless those who persecute us, let us bless and not curse. Let us show our love even in times of hostility. This is how we recognize the true children of God. Let us not stir up conflicts, let us not push our neighbor to popular vindictiveness. Let us extinguish conflicts and build walls of love. Let us not return evil for evil to anyone. Let us seek what is good in the sight of all men. Let us be at peace with all men. Excellent Friday and a good start to the weekend. Amen
