Theme: "The presence of Jesus sanctifies our lives"
Text: Job 24:14-15
14. The murderer rises at dawn, Kills the poor and needy, And steals during the night. 15. The eye of the adulterer watches for the twilight; No one will see me, he says, And he puts a veil over his face.
Let us remember:
The presence of Jesus sanctifies our lives; means that, if Jesus is in us, he kills the sin that approaches us. The presence of Jesus in our life changes our way of life. To sanctify is to attribute to something a sacred, pure, holy, noble, exceptional character, to place it above all. The evil or sin that haunts our lives will disappear if we bring Jesus back into our lives because his presence sanctifies our lives. We are used to fearing humans, we hide from the eyes of men but God sees us. The absence of Jesus is the open door to a whole life of disorder. He who lives in disorder, who does not respect the holy scriptures, will not be able to sanctify his life. How can we bring Jesus back into our lives? It is by accepting him as our only Lord and personal savior. It is by putting his word into practice that we will be able to accommodate his presence in our lives. Thus, we will not be able to be like this assassin who gets up at daybreak, he kills the poor and the needy, to steal during the night. The light of Jesus drives away the darkness of our thoughts and our actions. We will never have thoughts as gloomy as those of an assassin because the thought of Jesus will reign in us. And if ever we have a bad thought, Christ will fight it with his Spirit. The presence of Jesus sanctifies our lives and prevents us from hiding before men. He who stands purely before God is far from adultery. He fears God and does not advance into the life of adultery. The presence of Jesus draws limits not to be reached in our lives at the risk of leading us astray. Excellent Monday. Amen
