Theme : " The God of Jacob "
Text : Psalms 20: 1-5
1. (20: 1) To the Chief Musician. Psalm of David. (20: 2) May the Lord hear you in the day of trouble; May the name of the God of Jacob protect you! 2. (20: 3) May he send you help from the sanctuary, and sustain you from Zion! 3. (20: 4) May he remember all your offerings, and accept your burnt offerings! -Pause. 4. (20: 5) May he give you what your heart desires, and fulfill all your purposes! 5. (20: 6) We will rejoice in your salvation, We will raise the standard in the name of our God; The Lord will grant all your wishes.
Let us remember :
The God who revealed himself to Jacob while he slept in the place Jacob called Bethel, this God still keeps his promises. He said to Jacob: “… all the families of the earth will be blessed in you and in your seed. Behold, I am with you; I will keep you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land; for I will not forsake you, unless I do what I say to you ”Genesis 28: 14-15. It is a subject of immense joy to live up to such promises. We understand then why the God of Jacob hears us and protects us in the day of distress; it is one of the promises made to Jacob; and we inherit those. From his sanctuary; He sends us help to support us. He does not forget our sacrifices, our offerings, rather He accepts them and consumes them with joy. The Eternal God gives us what our heart desires, as such, He accomplishes all our purposes. Excellent Friday and good entry into the weekend. Amen Alain Louz.-
