Theme: “The Christian and the Use of Christian Freedom.”

Text: Galatians 5:13-15

13. Brothers and sisters, you have been called to freedom; only do not use this freedom as an excuse to live according to the flesh. Instead, through love, serve one another. 14. For the whole law is fulfilled in one word, in this: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." 15. But if you bite and devour one another, take care that you do not destroy one another.

Let us remember:

Freedom is one of the best things we have obtained in Christ Jesus, apart from salvation, which is incomparable. Indeed, Jesus has freed us from the slavery of sin. We have all gone astray like sheep, each one turning to its own way. And the Lord laid on Jesus the punishment for our heavy iniquity. He was oppressed and afflicted because of our disobedience. He did not open his mouth to justify himself, like a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and like a sheep before his shearers that is dumb. He didn't open his mouth. Yet he suffered our condemnation and carried our sin. He died for our sins. The punishment that gives us peace and freedom was upon him. He stripped himself of his divinity, taking the human form of a mother servant. He humbled himself to the stinking death of the cross. Therefore, God grants us freedom in exchange for his sacrifice on the cross. If Jesus took our yoke of condemnation to give us His own, which is made of freedom, a yoke that is gentle and light, let us not make this freedom an excuse to live according to the flesh. On the contrary, let us strive to live in charity. Let us follow the example of Jesus, who gave everything so that humanity could be saved. Let us have the freedom to do good in order to better justify our faith. Jesus' sacrifice was of no use to those who live in conflict because they are still slaves to the flesh. Let us take the freedom to sanctify ourselves instead of taking it to defile ourselves. Let us inscribe ourselves on the divine register of those who have the freedom to abandon evil to follow Jesus. Have a wonderful Sunday. Amen.
