The Christian, Salt of the Earth

Theme: “The Christian, Salt of the Earth

Text: Romans 12:17-18

17. Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Seek what is good in the sight of all men. 18. If possible, as much as it depends on you, live at peace with all men.

Let us remember:

A Christian must never wear the garment called vengeance. Love excludes evil. Being salt of the earth means being incapable of brooding over evil. The Christian is not a fool. He takes the time to mature his thought well before translating it into action. He must not repay evil for evil. Instead of taking revenge, the Christian must control himself and forgive. We must seek good and pursue it in order to bequeath to the world a generation that loves love and peace. Let us not return evil for evil to anyone, for our taste excludes evil in all its forms. Let us seek what is good before all men, since we are the salt of the earth. Let us not hide behind loopholes to refuse reconciliation with those who make us suffer. Let us propose forgiveness and prune hatred and anger, which only serve the cause of the devil. If it is possible, as far as it depends on us, let us be at peace with all men. Let us not let ourselves be overcome by evil, but let us overcome evil with good. The divine light must always shine wherever we are. Also, those who are close to us must take pleasure in contemplating us, for we are the salt of the earth. If our enemy is hungry, let us give him something to eat; if he is thirsty, let us give him something to drink; for in doing so, we will truly be the salt of the earth. Excellent Wednesday. Amen
