Topic: "The Christian Faces Anti-Values"
Text: Matthew 15:17-20
17. Do you not understand that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and is thrown into the secret places? 18. But what comes out of the mouth comes from the heart, and these are what defile the man. 19. For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, slanders. 20. These are the things that defile a man; but to eat with unwashen hands does not defile a man.
Let us remember:
Anti-values are based on what our heart thinks. When the heart ruminates on clumsy thoughts, it is obvious that one day, these thoughts become actions that will not bring joy to the Lord. When we eat something, we do no harm, unless we go beyond the limits of the stomach to switch to the side of excesses of the table. But an externalized word or act can translate the internalized bad thought. What comes out of the mouth comes from the heart, and it is what defiles the man. For it is from the heart that come the evil thoughts which are transformed into sin, into antivalues. We must therefore better control our thoughts; let the Spirit of God take control of our thoughts. This is why, we must leave reasonings and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and we must bring every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. If we let our thoughts be directed by the Holy Spirit, many antivalues will disappear from this world. Antivalues such as murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false testimony, slander defile man and weaken our societies. Excellent Wednesday. Amen
