Topic: "The Christian Faces Anti-Values"
Text: Romans 1:28-32
28. And since they did not care to have God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do what is not convenient, 29. being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malignity; 30. gossipmongers, slanderers, impious, arrogant, haughty, boasters, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, devoid of understanding, 31. of faith, of natural affection, of mercy. 32. And, although they know the judgment of God, that those who commit such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but approve of those who do them.
Let us remember:
Anti-values are the consequence of refusing to receive the Word of God in our lives. When creating the world, God had planned a code of good conduct. He had placed road signs to regulate daily life. Some signs encourage us either to move forward, or to be careful, or they force us to stop for a moment. Other signs prohibit us from accessing a path while offering us another. These road signs are the Word of God contained in the Bible. This Word is the thought, the orientation, the help, the punishment of God. It should never be an option of choice but an imperative to help us lead a life focused on true values of peace, faith, love, obedience, respect, holiness, justice… However, when we refuse to follow the path traced by God, there is no longer any way out that is moral or valuable. Anyone who refuses to accept Jesus in their life and to follow him; exposes himself to his reprobate senses to commit unworthy things. He will live like a human animal, that is to say, without morals, without faith, without salvation. He will love anti-values and will promote: injustice, wickedness, greed, malice; envy, murder, quarrels, trickery, slander, arrogance. Excellent Tuesday. Amen
