Theme : " The birth of Jesus Christ "
Text : Matthew 1: 12-17
12. After the deportation to Babylon, Jechonias begot Salathiel; Salathiel begot Zorobabel; 13. Zerubbabel begot Abiud; Abiud begot Eliakim; Eliakim begot Azor; 14. Azor begat Sadok; Sadok begat Achim; Achim begot Eliud; 15. Eliud begot Eleazar; Eleazar begot Matthan; Matthan begot Jacob; 16. Jacob begot Joseph, the husband of Mary, from whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ. 17. There are therefore in all fourteen generations from Abraham to David, fourteen generations from David until the deportation to Babylon, and fourteen generations from the deportation to Babylon to Christ.
Let us remember:
God is sovereignly established so that he is the only one to grant life according to his grace. He granted Mary to carry Jesus in her womb while it is in Joseph's genealogy that he appears. Joseph wanted to deny this pregnancy; wanting to be part of the logic of his brigand fathers like Manasseh. Despite the misconduct observed in the lives of several people mentioned above, God granted them the honor of appearing in the genealogy of the Messiah. How true it is that where sin abounded, grace abounded. One of the reasons why the Jews refuse the lordship of Jesus Christ is the fact of being born from an ordinary genealogy filled with warriors, killers, prostitutes, idolaters. So, God showed the world that his thoughts are not our thoughts; and our ways are not his ways. Excellent Tuesday in Christ. Amen Alain Louz.-
