Theme: "Spiritual Awakening and Discernment"

Text: Romans 12:1-2

1. I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Let us remember:

Worship does not only take place in places called temples, or churches, or communities. We are the temple of God. True worship consists in offering oneself as a sacrifice to God, as a sweet-smelling perfume that God will inhale and rejoice in. True worship consists in obeying God without questioning. Our life must be a worship offered to God. To achieve this way of life, we must allow ourselves to be transformed by the renewal of the mind. When one is a pagan, the mind is darkened since the pagan walks according to the vanity of his thoughts. He is a stranger to the life of God, because of his ignorance, because of the hardness of his heart. As long as the light of the Word of God does not illuminate the ways of the heart, there is no possibility of accessing spiritual awakening and even less discernment. The pagan is a person who has lost all feeling, he has given himself over to dissolution, he commits all kinds of impurity joined with greed. His ways are not recommendable. In such a situation, we must have the lucidity to admit defeat by evil and to call on Jesus for help so that he saves us. With his help, we can give him the reins of our life, our thoughts and our heart. When Jesus takes possession of our life, we access spiritual awakening because he transforms our intelligence, he renews it and he installs the software of discernment in order to know what to do, what to say. Discernment will help us know what is the will of God, what is good, pleasant and perfect. Let us offer our lives to God as a sacrificial offering. Excellent Friday and good start to the weekend. Amen
