Renouncing Evil

Thursday January 27, 2022

Theme : " Renouncing Evil " Text : Matthew 23:20-21

20. He who swears by the altar swears by the altar and by everything on it; 21. he who swears by the temple swears by the temple and by him who dwells in it;

Let's remember:

The most important thing in life is the good we can do; which is only the consequence of the love of God in us. In response to this love, we share our affection for others as an extension of God's love. This is the best way to renounce evil; instead of swearing by objects, however holy or vile, love is above swearing. These verses summarize the previous two. From the altar to the sacrifice that is on the altar; from the temple to Him who dwells in it; note that we must put God first because it is He who sanctifies the sacrifice and the temple. It is God who rejects evil and sanctifies good. So, before his face, let us be holy and sincere. Renounce evil. He who swears and, at the same time, uses falsehood in his swearing, that one is abhorrent to God. Excellent Thursday far from evil. Amen Alain Louz.-
