Theme : " Renouncing Evil "
Text : Matthew 23:18-19
18. If someone, you say again, swears by the altar, it is nothing; but, if anyone swears by the offering that is on the altar, he is bound. 19. Blind! Which is greater, the offering, or the altar that sanctifies the offering?
Let's remember :
Our commitment to serving God and our neighbor should not come only from the words that come out of our mouths. It is necessary to add the strong and repetitive acts, object of a firm conviction in God. Our faith must be expressed by actions full of charity such as offering oneself to God in sacrifice. Swearing by the altar or by the sacrifice that is on the altar is not enough. Indeed, it is we who are to be the sacrifice that is on the altar according to Romans 12:1. to God, which will be reasonable worship on your part.” Thus, the altar sanctifies the offering because it is a divine institution and the image of all the great and holy truths pertaining to sacrifice. Let us not be attracted by ornaments but let us be interested in the true God who is able to heal our blindness. Excellent Wednesday. Amen Alain Louz.-
