Theme: "My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit"
Text: 1 Thessalonians 5:23
23. May the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ!
Let us remember:
It is certain that every Christian must treat his body harshly; he must keep it subject to God's instructions so as not to become the temple of the devil. We have an effort to make in order to sanctify ourselves; according to the grace that God grants us. However, it is God who sanctifies us; beyond our personal discipline, it is up to God himself to sanctify us entirely. Our body is the temple of his Spirit, the dwelling place of God must always be clean and sanctified. It is a constraint to be sanctified if we want the Spirit of God to dwell in us. There is an incompatibility of being a Christian and then not being sanctified by God. The process of sanctification destroys our carnal appetites to the detriment of the desires of the Spirit. A transfer of the divine nature takes place in us. Through sanctification, God deposits his holy nature in us in order to make us like Him. God is the depositary of sanctification. He grants it to anyone who asks for it with conviction. Paul asks that God sanctify his creatures so that their bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit. For the Spirit of God to feel at ease in us, we must be sanctified entirely: body, soul, spirit. Excellent Wednesday. Amen
