Theme: "Let us examine all things for the glory of God"
Text: 1 Thessalonians 5:19-22
19. Do not quench the Spirit. 20. Do not despise prophecies. 21. But examine all things; hold fast to what is good; 22. Abstain from every form of evil.
Let us remember:
We know that the prophecy par excellence remains the Word of God contained in the Holy Bible. No prophecy must go against this Word. Any prophecy that contradicts the Word of God must be rejected. It is obligatory to examine each prophecy to see if it fits with the Word of God. For this, the person who helps to examine each thing is the Holy Spirit of God. Let us not quench the Spirit because without His action, we will not be able to discern anything. He is the one who scans every word. Indeed, every prophecy comes by the Holy Spirit. Prophecy is given by a prophet who speaks under the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Prophecy involves the inspiration, interpretation or revelation of the divine will. Without the Holy Spirit, no gift works. To quench the Spirit is to do things without His assistance, without going through Him. To examine each thing, we must leave room for the Holy Spirit to do it because He is the control center. Let us not despise prophecies but let us examine all things; let us hold fast to what is good; let us abstain from every kind of evil. The Holy Spirit speaks, He whispers when He must; He shouts when He wants but often, He whispers in the ear the will of God. The things to be examined should not be limited to the prophecy, we must examine everything: the context, the person who prophesies, the message, the instructions given, the interpretation, in short everything must be examined with a fine-tooth comb. Excellent Tuesday. Amen
