Theme: “Let us examine all things for the glory of God”
Text: Acts 17:11
11. These Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, and they examined the Scriptures daily, to see if those things were true.
Let us remember:
To examine is to look at or consider a person or thing carefully and in detail in order to discover something about it. To examine is to analyze, to auscultate, to peel, to study, to explore, to sift, to review, to weigh the pros and cons, to search, to probe, to see. If we examine all things, it is neither a lack of confidence nor a contempt, but a way of assuming one’s independence and faith. Already faith consists in believing in things that we hope for and that we do not see. If we must add to that the erroneous messages, our faith would be in vain. This is why we must always examine thoroughly to see if an error has not crept in. An omission of a word or letter can distort the entire content of a message for example fishing, preaching, perching and sinning. Digital technology can modify a message with "automatic correction" without the will of the writer. The alteration of the original message can put readers in difficulty. The target of the message can vary according to the circumstances. To avoid misinterpretations and abuse of language, we are advised to examine the content of each message before consuming it. We do the same thing with meals, we are very vigilant before swallowing something. Let us do it for the glory of God. Excellent Monday. Amen
