Theme: "Christ in us, the hope of glory"
Text: Hebrews 6:13-20
13. When God made the promise to Abraham, unable to swear by a greater than himself, he swore by himself, and said: 14. Definitely I will bless you and multiply your posterity. 15. And so Abraham, having persevered, obtained the effect of the promise. 16. Now men swear by the one who is greater than them, and the oath is a guarantee that puts an end to all their differences. 17.C is why God, wanting to show more obviously to the heirs of the promise the immutability of his resolution, intervened by oath, 18. so that, by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we may find a powerful encouragement, we whose only refuge was to seize the hope that was offered to us. 19. This hope, we possess as an anchor of the soul, sure and solid; it penetrates beyond the veil, 20. where Jesus entered for us as a forerunner, having been made high priest forever, according to the order of Melchisedek.
Retain:
God's promises are immutable. The great promise, the object of our perseverance, remains eternal salvation. If the promises of humans only engage those who believe in them; God's are an anchor for his children. Times, circumstances and places do not degrade God's promises in any way. When the wind blows to the point of drowning the boat of our life, our hope must remain firm because we have Jesus our mighty and infallible anchor. While the worries are tapping our minds, because of the waves that want to immerse us, Christ walks on these waves, threatens them and stops their cruelty. This is the merits of our hope in this anchor. Thus, the faith that is our bond with the anchor must be well maintained against rust so that it does not break. Excellent Tuesday in Jesus the hope of our glory. amen
