Theme: “Young people, let your light shine before all men”
Text: 1 Peter 4:11
11. If anyone speaks, let it be as speaking the oracles of God; if anyone fulfills a ministry, let him fulfill it according to the power which God imparts, so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen!
Let's remember:
“Speaking” should be understood as “word spoken in public, in the assemblies of the Church.” Which would mean that all the words that would be heard there should only be revealed divine truths, oracles of God as it is said in Romans 3.2. The exegete Fréderic Godet and his peers said that “Any other discourse which is not in the order of revealed divine truths, and/or the oracles of God, this type of discourse is of no use because it does not faithfully reproduce the will of God and does not contribute to the edification of the body of Christ. Thus, any speech that proclaims divine truth without the seriousness and anointing that suits it, profanes it. The young person must therefore speak revealed words, inspired words, words that bless and bring salvation. The young person must pronounce the oracles of God in order to accomplish his mission of making his light shine before men. This is not only a matter for young consecrated servants but rather every young person, whether lay or not, must let their light shine. Everything the young person says or does must be aimed at making his light shine before men. When the young person begins to serve God, by giving ministry, he must do it meticulously so that his light shines. Clumsiness would only extinguish his light. Excuses linked to his low age are not taken into account because age is not a factor of maturity. Many young people are very mature while many adults and even old people are immature despite their accumulated experiences over decades. May each speech by a young person be an opportunity to shine their light. Have a great Thursday. Amen
