Theme: “Young people, let your light shine before all men”
Text: 1 Peter 2:11-12
11. Beloved, I exhort you, as strangers and travelers on earth, to abstain from carnal lusts which wage war against the soul. 12. Be good conduct among the Gentiles, so that even where they slander you as if you were evildoers, they may notice your good works and glorify God in the day when he visits them.
Let's remember:
Every young person who wants his light to shine before all men must conduct himself in the manner most consistent with the gospel of faith. He must live a life oriented toward obedience to Christ. Now, to follow Christ is to resemble him, to become a disciple, to shine before all men. Thus we are exhorted to abstain from carnal lusts which wage war against the soul. We are only passengers, pilgrims, strangers on this earth because our city is celestial. May our visit be an opportunity to leave a good testimony around us. Let us not cling to this world which dazzles us and in which lust is deemed good. Let this blindness not engulf us. Rather, let us be good dispensers of divine graces. Let us be models of obedience to God and our parents. Young people must shine in good conduct. Let us manifest our good works without growing weary. Let us close the eyes of the flesh so that lust does not take over us. Let us fight every day against the forces of evil who want to enslave us so as not to be slaves to sin. Even when we are slandered, let us respond with a positive attitude. Let us not allow ourselves to be influenced by this world; it is up to us to influence it through our good works. So this is an opportunity to treat our body harshly; to keep him in subjection, for fear of being rejected after having preached to others. Excellent Tuesday. Amen
