Theme: “We are set apart for God”
Text: Romans 12:1-2
1. I exhort you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable worship. 2. Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of the mind, that you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
Let's remember:
Ephesians 4: "21: In him (Jesus) you were taught to put off yourselves, 22. from your past life, from the old self which is corrupted by deceitful lusts, 23. to be renewed in the 'spirit of your understanding, 24. and to put on the new man, created according to God in righteousness and holiness produced by the truth.' The Christian set apart must perfect himself, he must sharpen himself, he must become calmer, he must make himself more intelligent. He must stimulate his intelligence and develop his ability to reason. To achieve this, we must always drink from sources that never dry up. Our watering hole which is the Word of God must flow within us. The Spirit of God renews our intelligence so that we can better understand the Word of God. If we succeed in offering our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, this will be reasonable worship on our part and the Lord God will accept it. The Lord accepts the sacrifice that comes from our love for Him. He accepts our desire to serve Him and our motivation to be set apart. Let us learn to trust in God, let us remain set apart so that the Lord God may open our minds to better understand the Word as it is written in Luke 24:45 “Then he opened their minds, so that they understand the Scriptures” or in Psalms 119:130 “The revelation of your words gives light, it gives understanding to the simple.” He who is set apart comes to discern what is the will of God, what is good, pleasing and perfect. Have a great Thursday. Amen
