Theme: “Victory by faith”
Text: 2 Timothy 4:6-8
6. For I am already serving as a libation, and the time of my departure draws near. 7. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8. From now on the crown of righteousness is reserved for me; the Lord, the righteous judge, will give it to me in that day, and not only to me, but also to all those who love his coming.
Let's remember:
Let us believe with faith that at the end of the race there is an eternal reward reserved for those who follow the Master of our salvation Jesus. The daily race of faith will come to an end, faith will have run its course and we will leave this world to join the heavenly city; which is the culmination of our faith. During our earthly sojourn, let us always fight the good fight of faith; let us grasp the eternal life to which we have been called and for which we have made a beautiful confession in the presence of many witnesses. Let us try not to lose our faith during the battle that is imposed on us in this world. Let's have the motivation not to stop moving forward because day after day, the evil one strengthens his tricks. It is up to us to double our ardor in our defense and by fiercely resisting it with an even more determined faith because our victory depends on it. Paul is a model of faith that we can imitate. He initially fought against the Christian faith but was later overtaken by our Lord Jesus Christ who enlisted him in his service. From then on, he switched to the right side of faith and he kept that faith. Paul ran, not as if on an adventure; he struck, not as beating the air. But he treated his body harshly and held it in subjection, lest he should be rejected, after he had preached to others. He could rejoice in having done useful work. He could therefore wait patiently for his incorruptible crown which is the fate of those who keep their faith to the end. This is the ultimate victory by faith that has fallen to us. Excellent Friday and good start to the weekend. AmenAlain Louz.-
