Theme: “Victory by faith”
Text: 2 Chronicles 20:20-24
20. The next day they set out early in the morning for the desert of Tekoa. When they were leaving, Jehoshaphat stood and said: Hear me, Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem! Trust in the LORD your God, and you will be established; trust in his prophets, and you will succeed. 21. Then, in agreement with the people, he appointed singers, who, clothed in sacred ornaments, and going before the army, praised the LORD and said: Praise the LORD, for his mercy endures forever. 22. As the singing and praising began, the LORD placed an ambush against the children of Ammon and Moab and those of Mount Seir, who had come against Judah. And they were beaten. 23. And the children of Ammon and Moab fell upon the inhabitants of mount Seir, to destroy them by law, and to destroy them; and when they had done with the inhabitants of Seir, they helped one another to destroy one another. 24. When Judah came to the height from which the desert was seen, they looked towards the multitude, and behold, they were corpses lying on the ground, and no one escaped.
Let's remember:
Faith resolves the most uncertain situations by giving them a better outcome. A single man of faith can stand up and give a word of command to an entire army by agreeing on a saving principle. Jehoshaphat spoke to the people about the notion of trust in God and his prophets. In other words he wanted the people to do like him who put their trust in God and his prophets. These are his words: “Trust in the LORD your God, and you will be established; trust in his prophets, and you will prosper.” He awakened their faith by making it more dynamic. The faith of Jehoshaphat contaminated that of all the people fighting on the side of the Lord. However, it should be noted that the faith of the entire group can only be operational if the group agrees to walk in the same direction. The people must be committed with one heart and aspire to the same thing. Cohesion, understanding, love help the faith of the group to act according to the common desire. This is why, in a group, we must avoid unnecessary divisions which undermine the faith of the group and annihilate common efforts. Let us always seek cohesion if we want collective victory to be possible. The wealthiest leader can stand out from the group to set the tone and launch the initiative of faith then give a slogan which will be the turning point of the situation. A group can achieve victory by faith without even fighting because God takes over our battles if we have firm faith. Have a great Tuesday. AmenAlain Louz.-
