Two paths, two destinies: choose the right one

Saturday November 11, 2023

Theme: “Two paths, two destinies: choose the right one Text: Matthew 7:13-14

13. Enter the narrow door. For wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter in by it. 14. But narrow is the gate and narrow is the way that leads to life, and there are few who find it.

Let's remember:

The choice of a path to follow is very determining of the life to lead and especially of the purpose. A bad choice can directly and seamlessly lead to perdition. It is not the width of a path that determines its importance. Following the path to worldly success is not often dependent on good purpose. The common man advances by following; which would mean that they are on the great and spacious road to perdition. Even our community churches are full of people who go there without really seeking salvation; they seek improvement in their daily lives and not eternal life. But he who first seeks material goods is on the vast and spacious path to perdition. Matthew 6:33. “Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness: and all these things shall be added unto you.” To choose a path, we must first evaluate its outcome because Ecclesiastes 7:8a tells us that: “The end of a thing is better than its beginning.” What is the point of choosing a path with a fatal outcome that leads to perdition? The wide gate, the spacious path are demonic worldly behaviors, they are confusions, they are trivialities, they are the desires of the flesh, they are all those things that everyone loves but which are disapproved by God. The wide gate and the broad way are all that kill our faith. In contrast, the narrow door and narrow path that lead to life is the obstacle course of the children of God who live only to do his will. The narrow gate and the narrow way are good works, it is the fruit of the Spirit, it is fasting, prayer, spiritual retreats, sanctification, obedience to God, sacrifice, love of neighbor. This is all that makes up the daily life of those who truly serve God. Unfortunately, not many people find this door and this path. Excellent Saturday. Amen Alain Louz.-
