Two paths, two destinies: choose the right one

Friday November 10, 2023

Theme: “Two paths, two destinies: choose the right one Text: Ephesians 5:8-11

8. Once you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk like children of light! 9. For the fruit of light consists of all goodness and righteousness and truth. 10. Examine what is pleasing to the Lord; 11. and take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather condemn them.

Let's remember:

He who leaves an old pagan life must attach himself to the new life which is in God in order to live for Him. It is written: 2 Corinthians 5:17. "If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature. Old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new." He who follows the path of God and who makes the choice must abandon himself to Him and cede the direction of his life to Him. 1 Peter 2:3. “if you have tasted that the Lord is good, 4. Draw near to him…”. The courageous decision to leave an old life, which perhaps provided us with several advantages and enormous achievements, indicates a desire to change attitude. We must therefore go to the end of this path and enjoy its benefits. Let us no longer retreat into the old sinful life that left us with a bitter taste. Our pagan past which is now in the rearview mirror should no longer attract us. Let us look to the heavenly things to come which are our inheritance in God. Having become children of God, let us learn to examine what is pleasing to the Lord and apply it. Let us leave the old life of various carnal and fruitless works of darkness. Let us remain in the light and enlighten the world around us, for the fruit of the light consists of all kinds of goodness, justice and truth. The path of darkness is destructive while that of light is saving. He who lives in darkness has a destiny truncated by eternal fire while he who is in light lives eternally in Christ. Excellent Friday and good start to the weekend. Amen Alain Louz.-
