Theme : " This God who was, who is and who is to come "
Text : Isaiah 46: 5-13
5. Who will you compare me to, to make him my equal? Who will you make me look like, so that we are like? 6. They pour out the gold from their purses, and weigh the silver on the scales; They pay a goldsmith to make a god of him, and they worship and bow down. 7. They carry it, they load it on the shoulder, they set it up, and it stays there; He does not move from his place; Then we cry out to him, but he does not answer, He does not save from distress. 8. Remember these things, and be men! Sinners, come inside yourselves! 9. Remember what has happened since ancient times; For I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and no one is like me. 10. I foretold from the beginning what is to come to pass, and long in advance what is not yet accomplished; I say: My judgments will stand, and I will do all my will. 11. It is I who call a bird of prey from the east, a man from a far country to accomplish my purposes. I have said it, and will bring it to pass; I designed it, and I will execute it. 12. Hear me, you hard-hearted people, enemies of righteousness! 13. I bring near my justice: it is not far; And my salvation: it will not be long. I will put salvation in Zion, and my glory on Israel.
Let us remember:
Yahweh is the only God; it is second to none. No one can claim to be like him. He brought this world into existence just by his Word; but He Himself is uncreated. What the world calls gods are just idols that can get old. They can be rolled in the dust without them knowing. They have mouths but do not speak. They have feet but they don't walk. In order for these idols to move, they must be carried by Man while no one can carry the Eternal, even a few centimeters. Let us never go behind these idols at the risk of wasting not only our time but above all our eternal life. Let us be in joy, our God listens and responds with signs and wonders. He announces to us the future of humanity several centuries before these things happen. Excellent Sunday. Amen Alain Louz.-
