Theme : "The Victorious Presence of Christ in His Church: Source of Our Assurance" Text : John 10:22-29

22. The feast of the Dedication was celebrated in Jerusalem. It was winter. 23. And Jesus was walking in the temple, under the portico of Solomon. 24. The Jews surrounded him, and said to him, How long will you hold our spirit in suspense? If you are the Christ, tell us frankly. 25. Jesus answered them, I told you, and you do not believe. The works I do in my Father's name bear record of me. 26. But you do not believe, because you are not of my sheep. 27. My sheep hear my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28. I give them eternal life; and they shall never perish, and no one shall snatch them out of my hand. 29. My Father, who gave them to me, is greater than all; and no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand.

Let's remember:

The greatest happiness of God's sheep is to listen to their shepherd Jesus the Christ. Even when they don't see it they remain confident. Although at a distance, they recognize his voice. A sheep does not go far from its shepherd for fear of being attacked by wolves and other wandering carnivores. Each child of God is assured by the omnipresent voice of the Eternal the Good Shepherd, he can lack nothing. He puts his faith to work when the shepherd speaks; and believe in his works. He bears record of Him. In his joy, the child of God does not hang around with unbelievers and other disbelievers; rather, he exhorts them to follow Christ and prays for them. Joy overflows especially with the assurance of salvation, eternal life already acquired in Jesus Christ while we are still in this world. Joy overflows with the knowledge that no one can snatch us out of the hand of God; no one will separate us from the love of Jesus and that we will never perish in Gehenna fire. Another cause for joy is to know that our God is the greatest God; above all gods. Excellent Sunday. Amen Alain Louz.-
