The righteous shall live by faith

Monday March 11, 2024

Theme: “The righteous shall live by faith

Text: Genesis 15:5-6

5. And when he had brought him out, he said, Look toward heaven, and count the stars, if you can number them. And he said unto him, This shall be thy seed. 6. Abram trusted in the LORD, who counted it to him as righteousness.

Let's remember:

The first righteous person is God himself. But since he likes to communicate his nature to us, he justifies us and makes us righteous like him. It is the grace of God that justifies us, not our works or our faith. God justifies us by forgetting our errors and allowing us to be filled with faith through his Word. The righteous is therefore the one who has accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. He is the one who is reconciled with God. He is the one who loves God and his neighbor. He is the one who loves reading the Word of God, putting it into practice and spreading it to others. The righteous is he who lives by faith. The prophet Abram had this vision when he was advanced in age. God said to him, “Abram, do not be afraid; I am your shield, and your reward will be very great.” Abram interacted with God while trusting Him. Their chat led to a short walk outside the house where he gave her this direction: “Look up to the sky, and count the stars, if you can count them. Such will be your posterity.” Abram, stunned, was unable to count the myriads of stars plastered in the sky. He no longer knew what to say, Abram only trusted in the Lord, who attributed it to him as righteousness. Trust is the expression of great love and attachment to the one you love. Trust is faith. Abram had confidence, he put forward his faith and he received God's promise. The righteous Abram lived by faith. Have a great Monday. AmenAlain Louz.-
