Theme: “The presence of Jesus sanctifies our lives”
Text: John 4:35-42
35. Do you not say that there are still four months and then the harvest? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest. 36. He who reaps receives wages and gathers fruit for eternal life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together. 37. For in this that which is said is true: One sows, and another reaps. 38. I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored, and you have entered into their labor. 39. Many of the Samaritans of that city believed in Jesus because of the woman's strict statement: He told me everything that ever I did. 40. So when the Samaritans came to him, they begged him to stay with them. And he stayed there two days. 41. Many more believed because of his word; 42. and they said to the woman: It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard him ourselves, and we know that he is truly the Savior of the world.
Let us remember:
We must desire the presence of Jesus in our lives so that it sanctifies us. His presence is characterized by listening to his Word in order to put it into practice. Having the presence of Jesus also means being under the direction of the Holy Spirit. If the presence of Jesus is in us, we will no longer fear the seasons, this presence is a guarantee. To better advance in life, we must desire to have the presence of Jesus. It is the presence of Jesus in our life that gives us the ability to sow and reap in God’s field but also in our own life. Having the presence of Jesus gives us the favor of entering into possession of blessings that we do not even know the origin of. Divine providence has fallen to those whose lives are sanctified by the presence of Jesus. When the presence of Jesus is manifest in a place, people run to it to receive life in abundance. The presence of Jesus attracts those who are lost. If we want to remain in the presence of Jesus, we must invite Jesus to remain in us and among us. Let us desire his presence to be sanctified forever. Let us not desire this presence just for a few days, rather, let us sigh after it for eternity. When the presence of Jesus settles in a place, people are sanctified and a great number receive salvation, miracles, peace, joy… in short, this is where obedience to God becomes a way of life. Excellent Saturday. Amen
