The power of Jesus Christ, source of our faith

Saturday January 13, 2024

Theme: “The power of Jesus Christ, source of our faith”

Text: Mark 3:1-6

1. Jesus entered the synagogue again. There was a man there who had a withered hand. 2. They were watching Jesus, to see if he would heal him on the sabbath day: it was in order to be able to accuse him. 3. And Jesus said to the man who had the withered hand, Get up there in the middle. 4. Then he said to them: Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do evil, to save a person or to kill him? But they remained silent. 5. Then looking over them with indignation, and at the same time grieving for the hardness of their hearts, he said to the man: Stretch out your hand. He stretched it out, and his hand was healed. 6. The Pharisees went out, and immediately consulted with the Herodians how to destroy him.

Let's remember:

The power of Jesus so moves the embittered and the intriguers that they consult each other to seek to destroy his activity. No matter what traps are set, the power of Jesus can never waver before human creatures. We need to know that for all the situations that disrupt our lives and prevent us from being able-bodied, let's not sit around crying over our fate. Let us instead go to meet the Lord God in the synagogue. The power of Jesus is able to locate us, to give us the faith inherent in our healing. Working day or public holiday, Sabbath, it doesn't matter, let's strengthen our faith by going to meet the Lord, the patron of the Sabbath. Jesus has great power over the Sabbath but also over our faith. No one can accuse Jesus of healing us. His power is above that of accusers and other detractors. It is said that Jesus entered the synagogue again. He was already there a few hours before. He returns there without fearing for his life, without fearing the threats made against him. He was very confident about his power which is the source of our faith. While the embittered seek to accuse Jesus, we for our part look to his power to replenish our faith. Seeing the victories over the sick, the helpless, the detractors, our faith can only be strengthened. Let us hold on to the power of Jesus. Have a great Saturday. Amen
