Theme: “The power of Jesus Christ, source of our faith”
Text: Matthew 28:16-20
16. The eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain that Jesus had pointed out to them. 17. When they saw him, they bowed down before him. But some had doubts. 18. Jesus came and spoke to them: All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20. and teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the world.
Let's remember:
When our Lord Jesus Christ predicts something, it always comes true. All his advertisements wore the physical body and became visible. One of the peculiarities of Jesus, emanating from his power; it is his ability to do what he says and say what he does. Between his language and his facts, there was no gap, even the slightest there was none. He predicted that he would die and rise again, the disciples heard it and saw its fulfillment. He told them that he was going to Galilee, to a mountain that he pointed to. The disciples went there, saw him, and bowed down before him. Although some had doubts; this in no way taints its credibility and in no way affects its power which is the source of our faith. Furthermore, despite their doubts, Jesus entrusted them with the management of souls; he gave them authority, such that the early Church should rest on each disciple. He established them as the columns of the temple, he made them the foundations of the post-Jesus Church. Jesus gave them the power to forgive, to heal, to baptize, to teach, to go and to make disciples. Jesus delegated his power to the disciples to multiply other disciples to fill the field with workers. Jesus does not send us out to pasture but he remains with us until the end of time. If he delegates power, it is because all the power has been given to him. His power is the source of our faith. Excellent Friday and good start to the weekend. Amen
