Theme: “The happiness that comes from meditating on the word of God”
Text: Psalms 19:8-12
8. (19:9) The judgments of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandments of the LORD are pure, they enlighten the eyes. 9. (19:10) The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever; The judgments of the Lord are true, they are all just. 10. (19:11) They are more precious than gold, than much fine gold; They are sweeter than honey, than that which flows from the rays 11. (19:12) Your servant also receives instruction; For those who observe them, the reward is great. 12. (19:13) Who knows his errors? Forgive me those I ignore.
Let's remember:
Meditation on the word of God brings great and inestimable happiness. Humans find happiness in what is visible and tangible, while neglecting the immaterial things that bring joy to the soul; but also those which bring joy to God. David teaches us that there is great happiness in following the ordinances of the Lord because they are right, they rejoice the heart. Having taken the time to experience it, King David can tell us, without risk of being mistaken, that the commandments of the Lord are pure, they enlighten the eyes. Let us no longer seek happiness in circuitous ways, but let us draw happiness from the bosom of God through meditation on his word. He who meditates on the word of God and puts it into practice comes to fear God. Now the fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever; yes, the judgments of the LORD are true, they are all righteous. The gold of this world is less noble than meditation on the word of God. Loving God and his Word brings more happiness than all the riches of this world. The happiness that comes from meditating on the word of God is more precious than gold, than much fine gold; it is sweeter than honey, than that which flows from the combs. Every servant who meditates on the word of God receives a great and eternal reward. Let us meditate on the word of God so that we come out of confusion and ignorance. Instead, we will become wiser and wiser. Wisdom is a great happiness that should never be lost. Have a great Monday. AmenAlain Louz.-
