The death of Jesus Christ: foundation of our salvation

Sunday March 31, 2024

Theme: “The death of Jesus Christ: foundation of our salvation

Text: Luke 24:1-8

1. On the first day of the week they went to the tomb early in the morning, carrying the spices which they had prepared. 2. They found that the stone had been rolled away from before the tomb; 3. and when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4. As they did not know what to think of this, behold, two men appeared to them, in resplendent garments. 5. Seized with fear, they lowered their faces to the ground; but they said unto them, Why seek ye among the dead him that is alive? 6. He is not here, but is risen. Remember how he spoke to you while he was still in Galilee, 7 and said, “The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinners, and be crucified; and that he rises again on the third day. 8. And they remembered the words of Jesus.

Let's remember:

It is not only the death of Jesus Christ that is the foundation of our salvation. We must associate his resurrection because his resurrection brings us back to life, from the dead that we were. These two aspects are inseparable. If Jesus had not been resurrected, all his work would have been for nothing. Feminine flair is very prospecting and it often unearths subtle things that men minimize in their legendary contempt. It was therefore the women who, wanting to continue to maintain the body of Jesus after his death, finally discovered the jack pot. The most important information in the Bible is the resurrection of Jesus. Without it, our faith would be in vain, the primitive church would not have existed; the apostles would certainly be decimated; the name of Jesus would be consigned to the dustbin of history. Unfortunately the women wanted to look for Jesus among the dead when he was already resurrected. We too have the bad tendency to seek Jesus in failures, illnesses, temptation, sin when Jesus is already far from these base and vile things. He is already resurrected, let us go to Him with thanksgiving and not with lamentations. The two men who appeared to them in resplendent clothing already announced the arrival of salvation among humans. Let us remember the words of Jesus so as not to stray far from the resurrection. Let us rehearse all the promises of Jesus so that we are always in the right place and at the right time. Let's not get distracted by looking for Jesus in the wrong place, he is already resurrected. Excellent Sunday. Amen
