Theme : " The conditions for being a disciple of Jesus Christ "
Text : Luke 14: 25-27
25. Large crowds were traveling with Jesus. He turned and said to them, 26. If anyone comes to me, and if he does not hate his father, his mother, his wife, his children, his brothers, and his sisters, and even his own life , he cannot be my disciple. 27. And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and follow me, cannot be my disciple.
Let us remember:
The main condition for being a disciple of Jesus is to LOVE HIM with all our heart. We must love Jesus Christ more than anything. More than anything means we have to love him more than our own life. This means that the priority of our life must be Jesus Christ and nothing other than Him. Whoever loves his family more than he loves Jesus Christ; he is not a disciple. In reality, the disciple must give up everything in order to follow Jesus Christ. He must detach himself from his biological family in order to attach himself to his now owner Jesus. The disciple must no longer belong to himself, nor to his family. Anyone who is worried about his life or that of his family is not yet a disciple because the disciple abandons everything into the hands of Christ. Carrying your cross is to carry around the pain of separation from your family and even to hate your own life. Indeed, this is also the new creature that one becomes by accepting discipleship.
