28. For which of you, if he wants to build a tower, does not first sit down and calculate the cost and see if he has enough to complete it,
Let's remember:
Some debts can be avoided if we take the time to make consistent projections. What Jesus is teaching us today is what science calls the business plan. Our Lord Jesus Christ had already spoken of several subjects that science could not discover until later. Indeed, debts can be the result of a disorder in functioning. Before launching any activity, it is necessary to establish a financial forecast. When we lack the resources to do so, we can involve professionals in the field. It is an estimated projection of expenditures and revenues; we make a numerical estimate that would help to know if the activity would hold up; without incurring debt. This is necessary for a business creation, a takeover and even for a modification of activity (addition or deletion). Certain subsequent circumstances may modify this plan and generate debts; nevertheless we would have made our estimate.
