Theme: “Prepare yourself to meet the Lord

Text: Luke 1:76-79

76. And you, little child, will be called prophet of the Most High; For you will walk before the face of the Lord, to prepare his ways, 77. To give to his people the knowledge of salvation By the forgiveness of their sins, 78. Through the bowels of the mercy of our God, by virtue of which the The rising sun has visited us from above, 79. To give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, To direct our steps in the path of peace.

Let's remember:

Before salvation comes to us through the coming of Jesus Christ, we must cleanse ourselves of our filthiness. This was the mission of John the Baptist, he preceded Jesus in order to call the people to repentance. Let us prepare to welcome the Lord who is coming. Let us not be like the Jewish people who refused to listen to either John the Baptist the precursor, or Jesus himself the Messiah. While awaiting the welcome of the coming King, let us be humble and determined to work to prepare the ways of said King. We are prophets established in advance by God to proclaim the wonders of the days to come. Therefore let us walk before the face of the Lord, to prepare his ways. In discipline and serenity, like people carrying pallets of eggs, let us solicit the adhesion of a large number of souls to the cause of Christ. Let us rely on obedience in order to attract those who are still hesitant to join the boat of meeting the Lord. Let us give the people of God the knowledge of salvation so that they may hasten to the forgiveness of their sins. The depths of our God's mercy are always open to save those who are still lost. There are many people who live in darkness and in the shadow of death; let's light their lantern and announce to them the imminent arrival of the King to direct their steps on the path of peace. Excellent Sunday. Amen.
