Prepare yourself to meet the Lord

Saturday December 16, 2023

Theme: “Prepare yourself to meet the Lord

Text: John 1:24-26

24. Those who were sent were Pharisees. 25. They asked him again this question: Why then do you baptize, if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the prophet? 26. John answered them, I baptize with water, but among you is one whom you do not know, who comes after me;

Let's remember:

People will always come and ask us for our reason for hope, otherwise they will want to know if there is a savior of humanity? Others will want to know why we pray and preach the Word of God? The answer is because there is an urgent imperative to do so because the instruction comes from the heavenly Father who asks us to announce the coming of his Son Jesus who is the Lord and savior of humanity. For us who are already saved, the Lord is already in our midst; he is also in every heart and he acts within us. It’s up to us to externalize it so that it also acts outside our lives. Pagans also must welcome him into their lives in order to live according to his instructions to be saved. There already exists a Lord who asks that we cede the management of our lives to him. He is at the door of every heart that is slow to receive him. He lives forever and ever and waits for the door to be opened for him to enter. The Lord is always in our midst but we must welcome him. Agreeing to welcome him means ceding control of our lives to him. To receive the Lord is to put off our old self and put on the new life. It is to be born again, to become a new creature; to pass away old things so that everything becomes new; as it is said in 2 Corinthians 5:17. Excellent Saturday. Amen
